We are seeking a Full Time, Fixed Term, Learning Support Officer (9:00am - 3:20pm) for the 2025 school year.ÌýÌý
The successful candidate needs to be a welcoming, friendly and highly motivated person who is willing to show initiative and work collaboratively within a team. They need to be flexible, being able to work with a variety of students and their teachers. They also need to have a passion for working with children with diverse needs, having a belief that all children can learn and succeed.
Applicants are encouraged to outline in their application how they will successfully undertake the LSO role with the following responsibilities in mind:
• Assist the teacher to implement strategies that have been decided upon at Program Support Meetings (PSGs) and/or Personal Learning Plans (PLPs) and develop excellent rapport with students, teachers, parents and visiting consultants.
• Be committed to the values and ethos of the Catholic education system.
• Work effectively as part of a team providing mutual support, sharing observations, expertise and an understanding of any intervention programs which may be operating to support the specific needs of students.
• Actively participate in activities, assisting, intervening and encouraging students, individually or in groups.
• Be aware of the class teacher’s expectations of the children in the class and the teaching method and strategies outlined in relevant school policies, particularly in the area of behaviour support.
• Assist in implementing Personalised Learning Plan (PLP) goals and associated adjustments for each designated student as directed by the classroom teacher – including collecting evidence of learning.
• Demonstrate a commitment to Child Safety Practices as outlined in the CECV Commitment Statement and the school's Child Safety Code of Conduct.
• Work under the direction of teaching staff and the Learning Diversity Leader.
• Keep appropriate records as required.
• Support individuals and groups of students using a variety of intervention programs.
• Be committed to continuous professional learning.
