In 2025, the newly named Saints College - Ballarat Campus, currently St Joseph鈥檚 School, is seeking an experienced leader to shape the future of our school during this exciting transition.
Since 2012, we have led the way in radically inclusive education, supporting students with diverse challenges. We are an inclusive school for 12-25 year olds seeking an alternative to mainstream education. Our environment celebrates all abilities and backgrounds, providing transformative learning experiences catering to individual needs.
We operate multiple campuses located in North 吃瓜不打烊, Geelong, Colac, Ballarat, and a dual engagement virtual learning campus, BlendED. In 2025, we will expand our offerings with the opening of three new campuses in Fitzroy North, Sunshine, and Bungaree, as part of our growth strategy to establish additional campuses in the future.听
The young people we serve often face significant and complex educational, social, developmental, psychological, health, legal, or familial challenges, which demand unique interventions. Our approach is grounded in the Operation by Principles framework, which combines education with an understanding of trauma-informed practices.
The Ballarat Campus is the newest addition to St. Joseph鈥檚 school network, having opened its doors to young people in 2024. Situated within an educational facility steeped in history, School House 34 has been rejuvenated to accommodate 120 young people from the Ballarat region. Currently, the campus has a full cohort with a significant waiting list for students from Ballarat and surrounding areas.听
Ballarat boasts well-equipped music rooms, art facilities, and a burgeoning woodwork space. The community comprises a diverse range of young individuals, and the programs offered are tailored to meet each student鈥檚 unique needs. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to engage with the expansive outdoor spaces and facilities at the nearby Bungaree Campus, enriching their learning experience through outdoor education and nature-based activities.

The Role:
It is an exciting time to join St Joseph鈥檚 as we are experiencing a period of substantial growth.
We are looking for a full time Deputy Principal to join our team, based at the Ballarat campus.
You will be employed on an ongoing basis, commencing ASAP or Term 1 2025, and will be employed under the Catholic Education Multi Enterprise Agreement 2022.
The successful applicant will be offered an ongoing Teacher position, and a fixed term Leadership position for a period of 5 years.

You will need:
- Ability to commit to and work within our Operating Principles; Respect, Participation, Safe and Legal and Honesty.
- Registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching听
- Have at least 5 years鈥� experience in a leadership role within an educational setting (flexi school or specialist assistance education experience highly regarded)
- Well-developed understanding of the developmental needs of young people from a disadvantaged or disengaged perspective
- Strong knowledge of and a commitment to best practice delivery of curriculum and learning diversity.?
- Be a strategic and visionary thinker who can translate ideas and concepts into action, analyse complex situations and engage proactively with others to enable change and improvement.
