With the Rio Olympics fast approaching, former Catholic school students are preparing for what will be one of the highlights of their sporting careers.

The following Olympians representing Australia were educated in Catholic schools throughout the Archdiocese of 吃瓜不打烊:

  • , competing in the rowing, attended Genazzano FJC College, Kew. Elizabeth Cambage representing Australia in the Opals Basketball Team
  • Monica Brennan, competing in the 400m relay (athletics), attended St Mary's School, Greensborough, and Loyola College, Watsonia.
  • Elizabeth Cambage (pictured), in the basketball team, attended St Macartan’s Primary School and Padua College, both in Mornington
  • Chris Ciriello, in the hockey team, attended St Paul Apostle South School, Endeavour Hills, and Mazenod College, Mulgrave
  • n, playing rugby 7s, attended Star of the Sea College, Gardenvale
  • Luke Mathews, competing in the 800m sprint, attended St Kevin’s College, Toorak
  • David McNeil, competing in the 10km run, attended St Anthony’s School, Alphington, and Xavier College, Kew
  • David Powell, playing table tennis, attended Aquinas College, Ringwood
  • Emily Rogers, competing in synchronised swimming, attended Our Lady of the Nativity, Aberfeldie, and graduated last year from St Columba’s College, Essendon
  • Annabelle Smith, competing in diving, attended Holy Saviour, Vermont South, and Sacr茅 C艙ur, Glen Iris.

The Olympics will be hosted by Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 5–21 August 2016.
