Tournament of Minds victory for Marymede

Last weekend the Victorian Tournament of Minds champions from , South Morang, took out the major prize and were crowned
2016 Australasian Pacific Champions in the Secondary Maths and Engineering division.
Against teams from around Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand, the team of seven students from the college became the first Victorian school since 2005 to take out the prestigious prize.
Prior to leaving for the finals on the Gold Coast, Marymede student Rick (Year 10) said the hardest aspect of the State Finals was ‘collaborating together whilst also overcoming our creative differences within only a three hour timespan was probably the most challenging part.’
Daniel (Year 9) was ‘looking forward to representing our State and competing against teams from across Australia and overseas. Just making this stage is a huge accomplishment and we’re all very proud of what we’ve achieved’.
The win is the latest achievement for Marymede Catholic College which is celebrating its in 2016.
