Last week, the Year 10 Health and PE class at , Kew, started off #ThisGirlCanVIC week by playing Gaelic football and dedicating their time to studying and learning about international sports.
During this week, students had the opportunity to experience a range of different physical activities, including Gaelic football, fitness classes before school, gym circuits and a lunchtime hip-hop event attended by students from different year levels.
This Girl Can Week is an initiative created by the Victorian Health Promotion Foundation (VicHealth) that encourages women to engage in physical activity in a way that suits them.
‘Playing Gaelic football with my class was so much fun. It incorporated many diverse sports and various techniques. The game moves fast and enables girls of all skill levels to get involved and have a great time’, said Year 10 student Michaela, after participating in the event.
