Australian Primary Principals Day
7 August 2020
Today is Australian Primary Principals Day, a day to recognise the great work done by all of our principals.
Celebrated by the , Primary Principals Day was initiated by the Victorian Principals Association (VPA) over 18 years ago and since then has picked up traction in other jurisdictions around Australia and abroad. Together with an ongoing opportunity to recognise the valuable work performed by principals in Victorian government schools, Principals Day has now become a catalyst for celebrating the work done by all principals in all schools across our nation.
This year we’ve seen, perhaps more clearly than ever, the true capacity and calibre of our principals as they’ve stepped up to the challenge of leadership through COVID-19.
We’ve realised afresh the real strength of the contribution they bring every day to their respective schools, staff members, students, families and the wider community. It is fitting that so many have commented on ‘a fresh understanding and perception of the profession’. We are indebted to them in so many ways.
