Semester 2
14 July 2020
Semester 2 has begun, but for our students and teachers in metropolitan 吃瓜不打烊 and Mitchell Shire it has been a disrupted start.
Students in these areas in Years 11 and 12, students in Year 10 undertaking VCE or VCAL studies and students enrolled in specialist schools returned to school yesterday. Students in all other year levels return to remote and flexible learning from Monday 20 July. Our teachers and school leaders will show the determination and creativity that supported student learning during the last period of remote learning. Schools will continue to inform families about developments over the coming weeks and advice for families can also be found on Catholic Education 吃瓜不打烊’s .
Despite the disrupted start to the semester, there are a number of events over the next few months to connect school communities and provide new learning opportunities. Although they may look different in 2020, these events are opportunities for communities to celebrate the things that make us all stronger:
- National Science Week 2020 begins on 15 August with the theme Deep Blue: innovations for the future of our oceans.
- CBCA Book Week has been moved from August to 17–23 October. The theme for Book Week 2020 is Curious Creatures, Wild Minds.
- NAIDOC Week 2020 has been moved to 8–15 November. NAIDOC Week celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, and this year’s theme is Always Was, Always Will Be.
