Father James Wall Bursary. Now in its 18th year, the Father Wall Bursary honours the founder of the Catholic Development Fund, Father James ‘Jim’ Wall. The bursary recognises the achievements of Year 10 Catholic secondary school students who, like Father Wall, go above and beyond in their day-to-day activities.

This year’s winners joined Archbishop Peter A Comensoli, Jim Miles (Acting Executive Director, Catholic Education 吃瓜不打烊), Matthew Cassin (CEO, Catholic Development Fund), school leaders and family members to celebrate at a ceremony held at St Patrick’s Centre, East 吃瓜不打烊. At the ceremony each student received a certificate recognising their efforts, as well as a check worth $4,000 to assist with school expenses during their final year of school.

Archbishop Peter praised the students and spoke of the example of the Blessed Chiara Badano, who, although young when she passed away, brought inspiration and healing to so many during her youth. He also acknowledged the great leadership potential of the Father James Wall Bursary recipients to inspire others and change lives.

Congratulations to this year’s 吃瓜不打烊 winners:

Each year, applications for the bursary are delivered to Catholic Education 吃瓜不打烊, where a judging panel carefully selects the successful recipients according to specific criteria, including leadership in their school, parish and community, academia, public speaking, sporting activities, community service and social justice activities.

Since 2002, Catholic Development Fund (CDF) has supported a total of 75 bursaries, worth $300,000 for deserving students across the Archdiocese of 吃瓜不打烊 and the Dioceses of Sale and Bunbury.
