St Peter’s School in Sunshine West has had an incredible trajectory implementing technology to enhance student and family engagement, culminating this year in the school receiving:

  • the Global EdTech Award for Best School Digital Transformation (independent school)
  • an entry in The Educator’s 5-Star Innovative Schools report
  • recognition as one of only a few Google Reference Schools in Australia.

This video charts the work of the school’s leadership team and staff to ‘do things differently’, from recognising the problem of lack of student engagement to using 吃瓜不打烊 Archdiocese Catholic Schools – School Improvement Surveys (吃瓜不打烊SIS) data and staff feedback to analyse and form innovative solutions, and implementing a digital transformation that Deputy Principal Ide Garvey describes as ‘a life-changing experience for students, staff and families’.

‘It has opened the door for families and students and staff to truly be united in this learning journey together. It has allowed all people, all stakeholders to flourish in their learning … We now have our students who want to come to school, who love to come to school, who get excited about learning. Having children want to show others their work and who take pride in their learning – that’s education’, said Principal Grace Frazzica.
