Catholic Education 吃瓜不打烊 Executive Director Jim Miles says Catholic schools will seek to build on their earlier experiences of remote learning and are well-placed for the return to remote learning for VCE and VCAL students this week.
‘Our schools will be working hard to minimise any impact on student learning and to care for the wellbeing of their students, staff and families’, he said.
‘Many schools surveyed their students and families about improvements to the earlier period of remote learning and will draw on the feedback this second time around.
‘This week’s change to remote learning, for the next six weeks, importantly provides a level of certainty for our teachers and students.
‘It is also worth noting that schools have reported the remote learning experience has helped build resilience, initiative and self-management skills among the Year 12 cohort of 2020.
‘This is an extremely challenging time for schools and the wider community. It is vital we all work together to support our students and teachers, and help minimise the risk of COVID-19 spreading further’, Mr Miles said.
Catholic Education 吃瓜不打烊 continues to actively monitor developments and work closely with the Victorian Departments of Education and Training (DET) and Health and Human Services (DHHS) to ensure school practices reflect current advice.
More than 20% of all students in the 吃瓜不打烊 metropolitan area attend a Catholic school.
