Role Description/Criteria
This is a full-time teaching position in a Year 3/4 classroom. The position is a maternity leave replacement teaching position and will be a contract position commencing at the beginning of Term 4 2024 (Monday October 7 2024) until the end of the year (December 20 2024). There may be an opportunity to extend the contract into 2025.Â
Our Lady of the Way is committed to teaching reading, writing and spelling using the body of evidence that underpins the science of reading and science of learning models to teach explicitly. Our Lady of the Way will coach, mentor and support interested teachers who wish to teach in an evidence based way.Â

Applicants require:
- a passion for teaching
- a willingness to actively participate in the school's coaching and mentoring processes
- an ability to show an understanding or a commitment to learning the cognitive science models needed to teach literacy
- the ability to show differentiation in teaching to accommodate a range of abilities
- an understanding and practical implementation of the use of data to inform teaching and learning
- Current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching
- Accreditation to Teach Religious Education or a willingness to undertake accreditation.
