Role Description/Criteria

The available role will be between 0.4 FTE and full-time (negotiable). It is a Fixed Contract position from January 2025 to December 2025, with the possibility of ongoing work.Ìý

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Learning Support Officer to work in our Learning Diversity Team. The successful applicant will join a team to assist teachers and students in the classroom under the direction of the Learning Diversity Coordinator.Ìý

The role involves working closely with students with a variety of learning profiles and having the ability to engage and inspire with positivity is critical. The role may involve working with a specific student with complex needs.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • The capacity to adapt behaviour management techniques to meet individual needs
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with diverse needs that include ASD, ADHD and OCD.Ìý
  • The ability to enforce routine and boundaries
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents
  • Kindness, intuition, and a good sense of humour

Suitable qualifications and experience in a similar role are desirable, but not essential and pre-service teachers are encouraged to apply. Ability to work with students in the upper years, particularly in Maths and Science, is an advantage.Ìý

Depending upon qualifications and experience, the salary will be in the range of a Level ES2 (2B) – ES2 (7B) but those with teaching qualifications would be in the mid to upper levels.
