If you have a passion for STEM and are seeking to work as part of a collaborative school team that is focused on bringing out the best in their students and each other, and know that what you are doing is going to make a positive difference to those you teach, we would love to hear from you.
We require a Specialist STEM teacher 0.6 with optional 0.2 - 0.4 in the classroom. Working with each grade (P-6) for approximately 1 hour per week.Â
The successful candidate will be able to:
- Deliver high quality instruction in STEM, utilising innovative teaching methods and hands-on activities to foster learner engagement and understanding.
- Develop and design engaging STEM learning opportunities in an authentic context.
- Be familiar with or interested in the knowledge rich approach when developing a STEM curriculum.
- Willing to facilitate student participation in the ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ STEM MAD exhibition.
- Work collaboratively with the curriculum leaders to prepare learning experiences that support the learning in the classrooms.
- Align STEM learning opportunities against the Victorian Curriculum standards, particularly the areas of Science, Technologies and Maths.
- Incorporate technology tools and resources into STEM lessons to enhance learning experiences and develop students’ digital skills e.g. Google Education Suite, Lego Spike, Minecraft Education, Sphero Mini, TinkerCad etc.
- Support and promote cybersafety initiatives at the school.
- Differentiate learning experiences to enable student success in learning.
- Use purposeful assessment providing data to drive and plan further teaching.
- Work in partnership with the wider school community to promote further learning opportunities and engagement.
