History:

Since 1961 the Carmelites have offered a Catholic education to the sons of families of neighbouring parishes. Increasingly over the years, the Carmelites have enlisted the support of other dedicated teachers to collaborate in the privilege of helping young men grow in wisdom, stature, knowledge, skills and integrity and thus develop a capacity for leadership in the broader community. Whitefriars students are nurtured in the Carmelite spirit which fosters depth, heart and joy in relationships, a sense of justice and an appreciation of life in all its many forms and experiences. At Whitefriars, students and staff see themselves as undertaking a journey together - a journey that draws us into the life of God. The value of each individual is highly prized and we see we all have a capacity to care for each other, to support each other, to enjoy each other and to help each other develop our full potential. A dynamic community of learners, friends, artists, achievers and contributors quietly takes shape within a peaceful bushland environment which supports the development of an enjoyable, productive, well balanced life.
