History:

Mount St Joseph Girls’ College was established in 1964 by the Sisters of St Joseph. The philosophy and purpose of the College grows from the example and work of Mary MacKillop, the founder of the Sisters of St Joseph. She believed that through education, all people would understand 'the message of their human dignity and Christ’s saving love'.

Her message was as simple as it was profound. God is active in our lives, and through the service of her Sisters, God’s compassionate love would become a reality for all.

It is this call to service through education which forms the cornerstone of our College as much today as it did in 1964 when Mount St Joseph Girls’ College was established. Then, as now, the College provides a Catholic education to girls from the eight parishes we serve.

Mount St Joseph Girls’ College is unique in its establishment. It is distinctive as it engages girls in their education.
