Features:

Our school offers a rich learning environment in which we strive to meet each individual student’s needs through a differentiated curriculum based. We have a range of programs and resources to enrich our students’ experiences.

At Resurrection School we believe that learning and teaching practices must: engage learners, develop critical thinking skills and focus on teaching that meets the needs of each individual. Our aim is for every learner to continually progress and exceed the set curriculum standards.

Our Education in Faith Program is drawn from the guidelines produced by the Catholic Archdiocese of ³Ô¹Ï²»´òìÈ; it is underpinned by Christian values within our Catholic tradition. The program is taught through Inquiry units of work.

Literacy learning focuses on growth for each student. Students learn to read for meaning and fluency using visual and digital texts. They learn to write for a variety of purposes; explicit writing skills are taught, including a school-wide approach to spelling. Speaking and Listening skills, the precursor to all literacy, are explicitly taught and developed throughout the school.

Mathematics education is implemented through rich learning tasks which are targeted to the needs of individual learners. Our Mathematics program is designed to equip each student with the skills to be numerate in everyday life and provide a sound basis for problem-solving and the understanding of mathematics.

Through Inquiry Learning, students engage in research and reflection to seek resolutions to questions and issues while constructing new knowledge across curriculum areas, such as: Geography, History, Science, Civics and Citizenship, Sustainability and Health.

Resurrection School offers specialist teaching in the key learning areas of: Physical Education and Health, Science Technology Engineering Maths (STEM), Music, Visual Arts, Italian and Personal Development.

Student Wellbeing is paramount in the lives of students. At Resurrection School we focus on the wellbeing of all learners. We offer support to individual students and small groups in many ways, including: School Chaplaincy, ‘Peaceful Kids’ and ‘Good Grief’ programs, and whole school strategies such as: Values Education, Circle Time, Restorative Practice, Say No to Bullying, Positive Education activities, Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL), Mindfulness and Farm 2 Table.

All students are taught digital education skills throughout the curriculum. Our resources include: interactive whiteboards, iPads, Chromebooks and coding materials.

Students engage in a variety of opportunities and programs, including: student leadership, enrichment and intervention, Speech Pathology, library program, peer tutoring, a Buddy program P- 6, outdoor education (camp program for Years 5 and 6), swimming program, annual athletics and swimming carnivals, Art Show and School Concert, incursions and excursions, School Chaplaincy, School Psychology, Playtime Clubs, including: gardening, dance, choir, guitar, table tennis, coding and mini golf.

The on-going maintenance of our productive garden gives students an opportunity to learn in this stimulating environment. Our school environment further enhances the students’ learning about sustainability.
